First day of working at the Japanese Restaurant in Rockingham

新しい職場での仕事が始まりました！
徒歩5分強で着く勤務先への出発時間は9時半に設定しました。
9時40分よりも早く着いたら誰もいませんでした。
次からは始業20分前に出発しようと思います。
I've started working at the new place this morning!
I set myself leaving home at 9:30am to there which is a little over 5mins.
There were nobody when I arrive there a little earlier than 9:40am.
I will leave home 20mins before the work starts from the next time.

 

今は休憩中。
10時から14時の仕事を終え、賄までいただきました！
It is the break time from work now.

The finished work of 14:00 to 10:00, they searved me the cater lunch!

4時間はあっという間。
覚えることが沢山すぎて、メモも追いつきませんでした。。。
夜の営業がちょっと心配です。。。
「昼に伝えたはずなのに」と言われないように頑張ります。
4 hours of working past so fast for me!
I had to remember too many, and couldn't catch up on taking memo of which I need to remember...
I'm worried about evening a bit...
I'll try not to be said "we taught you this afternoon".


そういえば、今日、生まれて初めて太巻を巻きました。
お寿司の。
手巻き寿司は家でやったことがあったのだけど、
初めて巻くという自分にちょっと驚きました。
Come to think of it, I rolled the thick sushi-roll for the first time in my life.
I did have rolled the hand rolled-sushi at home though.
I was surprised a little to myself about it.

Moving to Rockingham

いちご農園を出てしまいました。。。
そして、今はロッキングハムという街にいます。
賃金が低かったのはもちろんですが、次の仕事が見つかってしまったんです。。。
I left the strawberry farm last Saturday...
And now I'm in Rockingham.
The reason is of course the wages, but also I found the next job!


10月11日(金)に、次の仕事を探し始めました。
1ヶ月くらいの間に見つければいいと思って、まずは1つのレストランに履歴書を送ってみました。
と、翌日、そのレストランからの電話があり、受け入れていただける話に。
October 11 (Friday), I started looking for next job.
I thought it would take about one month to find it, but need to start doing something and sent my resume to a restaurant.
And the next day, the owner of the restaurant called me and said he can hire me!


農園では辞職は1週間前に伝えねばならないということで、すぐに農園のオーナーに辞職の旨を伝え。
翌土曜の19日にアルバニーを離れました。
ロッキングハムでの滞在先は、レストランのオーナーが見つけてくれました！
There is a rule that we have to give one week notice for leaving the farm, so I said to the owner of the farm that I will leave the farm in the next Saturday.
And I left Albany on next Saturday (19^th).
The owner of the restaurant found me the accomodation in Rockingham!


20日(日)にそのレストランのあるロッキングハムへ移動。
面接という名の履歴書や仕事内容の確認作業を終え、23日(水)から仕事が始まる旨を聞きました。
とある日本食レストランで働きます。
まずはキッチンハンドとして、
キッチンが見つかればウェイトレスとして働くようです。
On Sunday, 20^th, I moved to Rockingham.
I had an interview with the owner of the restaurant and we did verification of my resume and the job there.
Also I heard that I will start working there from next Wednesday 23rd.
I'm gonna work at one Japanese restaurant as a kitchen hand,
and after they found another worker as a kitchen hand, I will be a waitress.


面接後、滞在先のホストファミリーのお宅へ。
おばあちゃんが2人。
一人が家主、一人が居候。
二人ともとっても親切。
バス、トイレ、キッチン共用。
部屋は一人部屋。
明日はテレビを設置してくれるとのこと。
なかなか快適です。
After the interview, I moved to the place I stay which is my host family's house.
There are 2 old ladies living.
One person landlord, one person hanger.
Both very nice person.
Bath, toilet, kitchen, laundry are shared.
The room I stay is single room.
There will be a TV set up tomorrow in my room.
I think it is quite comfortable living here.


ロッキングハムは、パースから南に40km程度の海沿いの街。
滞在先も、職場、ショッピングモールから徒歩5分、ビーチから徒歩15分(約1km)と、素敵な立地。
今度こそ、ここに3ヶ月滞在しようと思っています。
Rockingham is a city by the sea and about 40km south of Perth.
And where my host family lives is 5-minutes walk workplace and a shopping mall, also 15-minutes walk(about 1km) from the beach, so quite nice.
I think I will stay here 3 month this time.

working at a strawberry farm

オーストラリア、10日目。

アルバニーに来ています。10^th day in Australia, today.I'm here in Albany.

いちご農園で働くこと、4日目。ハンドサイム・ストロベリーという農園で働いています。This is 4^th day of working at strawberry farm.I'm working at “HANDASYDE STRAWBERRIES”http://www.handasydestrawberries.com.au/


ここの農園でのお給料は歩合制。1パックではなく、いちごを収穫するトレイ数で換算。
トレイの大きさは30cm×40cm×7cmくらいだったかと。。。
This farm pays as commision system.They count the numbers of not packages but tray.The size of the tray is about 30cm×40cm×7cm, I think...


収穫作業のピッキングは最低1ドルから。出荷前作業のパッキングは最低0.7ドルから。
その日の作業×収穫量により、変動していて、これまでの三日間では、ピッキングは1.6から1.8ドルの間、パッキングは0.9ドルでの変動なし、という感じでした。膝丈よりも低いところにあるいちごを狩るというのは大変です。The minimum rate for picking is AUS$1 and packing is AUS$0.7.This rate is fixed by“how many hours we work”× “how much we picked and packed”
In those 3 days of working, the rate wasfor picking from AUS$1.6 to 1.8 / treyfor packing was AUS$0.9 / treyIt is really hard to pick strawberries which grow below our knees!


初めての農作業ですが、こんなにもきついとは。お給料のことを考えると、悲しくなっちゃうけれど、いい経験だと思って頑張っています。ここまで来たので、1ヶ月は耐えようと思ってます！ちなみに、全体の中でも恐らく成績が良いであろう私の日給は、平均してだいたい80ドルくらいというところでしょうか。This is my first experiance working at farm,
and didn't expected this hard...I become sad when I think of my payment,I think this is a good experience and do my best.I guess I'm doing well in all of the workers here,and I think my average payment for a day is around AUS$80...


ここの仕事を見つけたのは、パースでのエージェントを通しました。200ドル払わなければならなかったけれど、すぐに仕事を始められるということで、決めました。ちなみに、エージェンシーは、Perth Working Holiday & Tour というところ。Barrackストリート37、1Fにあります。I found this work through an agency for working holiday.I had to pay AUS$200, but I could start working soon,I decided to pay that ammount of money...This agency is called “Perth Working Holiday & Tour”and located in 1^st floor 37 Barrack Street in Perth.


オーストラリア(パース)に来て3日目に、貼紙を見て、話を聞き、4日目に、オリエンテーションで申し込み、お支払いし、5日目に、アルバニーに来て、7日目から仕事を始めたとう形です。
スムーズに進めたから、この200ドルは価値あったかな。と考えることにしています(笑)
この農園のHPもあって、そこに求人もあって、そこから申し込めばもちろん無料だったんですけどね。そのHPを見つけることができなかったからしょうがないとも思っています。。。Since I've arrived in Australia(Perth)3^rd day: went to agency and heard about this work4^th day: paticipated a seminer for this work and paid AUS$2005^th day: moved to Albany from Perth7^th day: started workingI think I can value AUS$200 for the result which made everything goes so smoothly...If I could find the homepage of this place,I could've apply through that and didn't have to pay,but I didn't know the existance of the homepagenor couldn't find the homepage, oh well...


ここでは、雇用主が所有している宿に滞在することができ、1泊11ドルで滞在できます！4ヶ月目からは1週間35ドルになるそうですけどね。男女別もしくは、カップル用の2人部屋。キッチンはちょっと狭いけれど、使えるのでよし。あんまりにも汚かったので、今日、大掃除しました。。。I can stay at the room which the employer owns.11 dollers per a day.I've heard from 4^th month only AUS$35 per a week.The room is twin separated male and female or for couple.The kitchen is bit small for all of us,
but at least we can use and I think it is good enough.But it was sooo dirty and I cleaned it today...

仕事のスタートは7時。
終了時間はまちまちで、遅いときは夕方5時くらい、今日はすごく早く、1時半には終了しました。We start working at 7 in the morning.Finishing time depends on the day and latest was around 5pm,but we finished working around 1:30pm today.


この農園の周りには何もないけれど、仕事終了後は、宿にあるビリヤードや、卓球をしたり、料理をしたり、みんなまちまちに時間を楽しんでいる感じです。私もようやく、旅での写真の整理などをする時間ができた感じです。これまでのブログも少しずつアップしますね！We enjoy our time individually after working even though there are nothing around this farm.There is a table tennis and a pool table in where we stay and we can play.For me, finally I have time for organizing the pictures from travelling and so on.I will update my blog from travelling little by little!
