Leh to Srinagar

レーからスリナガルへの移動方法は決めずにレーに来ていた私たち。
レーに着いてからいくつかの旅行会社を回り価格などを調べた。
ワゴン車のようなプライベートバスだと一番後部の座席で1800ルピー(3000円程度)という。
ローカルバスだとだいたい1100ルピー(1900円)程度。
いずれの方法にせよ途中どこかの街で一泊することもなく、ただただ走る。
であればローカルバスで十分と考えた。
We came to Leh without thinking of how to get to Srinagar.
And we went to several travel agency in Leh and found out the cheapest one which is probably the back seat of a van which costs 1800 rupees.(about $30US)
And the local bus costs about 1100 rupees.(about $19US)
Both don't stay over in any towns and going straight to Srinagar except for small breaks.
So both don't have a big deference for us besides the price and we thought a local bus is good enough for us.

バスターミナルに移動、バス情報を調べた。
ローカルバスは毎日昼の2時にバスターミナルより出発するという。
途中9時頃にカルギルという街で30分のディナー休憩を挟み、
翌朝5時頃にスリナガル着というスケジュールらしい。
バスも見たけれど、見た目よりも乗り心地は悪くなさそうであった。
We moved to the bus terminal and searched the information about the bus.
The bus leaves the terminal at 2:00pm,
stops at Kargil for 30mins for dinner at around 9:00pm,
and arrives Srinagar at around 5:00am in the next day.
We checked the bus and we thought it is not too bad as it looks.

情報収集に来ただけだったのに、そのままチケットを購入させられてしまった！
途中休憩のカルギルという街に一泊することも考え、カルギルまでのチケットを購入。
We came to bus terminal just for information, but a man force us to buy the ticket!
But we only bought to the ticket to Kargil because we might want to stay one night in Kargil.

けど、紙切れ?大丈夫かぁ？カルギルまでの分は550ルピー(約950円)。最悪買いなおせばいい。But isn't it just a paper?Is it all right?Well, it cost only 550rupees(about $9.5US), if it doesn't work we can buy the ticket again...

翌日チケットの心配と共にバスターミナルに向かう。集合時間は出発30分前の午後1時半。出発待ちの人がいた。We went to the terminal in the next day with concern about the ticket.Gethering time for the bus is 1:30pm, half hour before the departure time.
We saw some people waiting for the bus.

昨日チケットを売ってくれたおじさんがいた。席も案内してくれて、無事にバスに乗り込む。結局スリナガルまで向かうことを告げると追加510払うように言われただけであった。チケットも取られ、握手をされて支払いは済んだらしい。We found the man who sell the ticket yesterday.He took us inside of the bus and show us our seat.We asked him if we can go straight to Srinagar and he said yes and let us pay 510rupees.Also he took our ticket and shaked our hands...I guessed all the payment done...

予定通りにバスは午後2時に出発。
澄み渡った空と茶色の山、時々緑、川。
2時間おきくらいに10分程度のトイレ休憩もあった。
The bus left the terminal on schedule at 2:00pm.
I enjoyed the clear sky, sandy mountains, sometimes greens, and rivers.
The bus stopped every 2 hours(about) for short breaks.

そのうち一つの休憩でドライフルーツを見つけて購入。
40ルピー。(約70円)乾燥しすぎてて固かった。
During one of the breaks I bought a package of dry fruits.
It cost 40 rupees.(about US 67 cents)It was too dry and too hard...

途中、外国人のみチェックポストで降ろされた。建物の中で、必要事項をノートに書き込んだ。すぐに終わって、バスに戻った。We foreigners had to go the check post.We filled in the essential information in the book inside of the building.Didn't take long and went back to the bus. 

After that, bus kept going without any troubles.

それからもバスは好調に走り続けた。

夜9時ごろ、カルギルに到着。
30分の休憩だが、そんな短時間ではレストランで食べるのは不可と判断。
軽食を購入するため、街を歩き回ってみたが、良さそうなものを見つけられず、
結局夕食はお預け。。。
At around 9:00pm we arrived to Kargil.
We had only 30mins and thought it is impossible to go to a restaurant.
So we walked around the town to find some snacks, but couldn't find...
and didn't have anything for dinner that day...

カルギルを出ると満点の星空も消え、雨が降り出した。
窓の隙間から漏れる雨が冷たかった。。。
そんな中眠りにつき。
起きたらスリナガルだった。
日も空ける前の3時半。
乗客、荷物を降ろすとバスは早々に去っていった。
予定時間に出発、予定より早く目的地に到着、こんなことがインドであるもんだなぁと感心したが、あまりに早く着きすぎたので、逆に宿探しが面倒になった。
After Kargil, I enjoyed thousands of the stars in the sky from the window, but after a while, it started raining.
The rain drops came inside of the bus from the gap in the windows, and I felt it and was cold...
But I fell asleep.
When I woke up, I was in Srinagar.
It was about 3:30, even before sunrise!
The bus let us getting off the bus and left our luggage on the road quickly and soon after it left us.
I was surprised by the bus because it left on time and arrived way before on time, in India!
But it was a bit trouble for us to look for a place to stay in that early morning...
